Pet Friendly Motorhome Hire

Before you set off

  • It is advisable to acclimatise your dog to the motorhome first, let him/her have a good look and smell around.
  • If your dog doesn’t travel well, seek advice from your vet before you travel. They can advise on the best ways to help keep them happy and calm whilst travelling.
  • When planning your itinerary, remember you will need to schedule regular stops in your journey for water/food/toilet/exercise breaks.
  • Check ahead to see which campsites are dog friendly. We are a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club and they welcome dogs at the majority of their sites. There may be an additional cost for pets to stay, but as our membership extends to all our customers you will receive a discount on sites booked ahead of time. (check out this link for instructions on how to book)
  • Dogs are very sensitive to smells, so remember to pack their favourite toy and blanket.

Travelling with your dog

  • We advise that you purchase a travel safety harness for your dog.You don’t want them to get injured if they slip or fall whilst the vehicle is in motion. You also need to be concentrating on the road, not on your dog. Our dog adventure pack contains a dog seat belt which will clip onto the dog harness.
  • Ensure there is fresh air circulating around the motorhome, either via the air conditioning or an open window.
  • If it’s sunny, your dog will need shade so that they won’t suffer from heat stress. Luckily we’ve got that covered too as our motorhomes are fitted with privacy blinds.
  • If heading out on a long journey, break it up with a number of stops and reward your dog with a short walk and doggie treat.

Once on site

  • Ensure that you abide by the campsite rules. The majority of campsites specify that a dog must be on a lead at all times.
  • Never leave your dog alone or unattended in the motorhome.
  • Always clean up after your dog.
  • Be mindful of other campsite users.

It goes without saying that throughout your adventure, you will need to make sure that your dog has access to clean, fresh water at all times. Our dog adventure pack comes with two collapsible bowls, with attached carabiners so transporting them is really easy.
